It looks like Lcd Tv's are going to be here for quite some time yet. The technology, although dated in concept, is mature sufficient for manufacturers to start pushing to the boundaries of viewing.
Towards the end of last year, Sharp unveiled the vision of Lcd Tv's and it looks ultra-thin. The next generation of Sharp Tv's have a 4 milli second response time - this means exceptionally high ability viewing of captivating images, something that never used to be a strong point for Lcd television.
What Is Panasonic Viera
It could be said that plasma television is the way forward. Now I have to admit that I'm not keen on the viewing sense produced by plasma, they seem to blur when following fast captivating images. Other factor that tilts in favour of Lcd over Plasma is the price - Lcd technology is far cheaper.

Where to now for Lcd Television?
The relatively low cost of Lcd television has allowed huge advances to be made. Manufacturers have managed to cut the size, weight and cost whilst enhancing display and resolution. More recently, vendors have made a move into the Hd field with many of the Lcd television sets being sold as 'Hd Ready'. I must admit that I'm not a great fan of Hd - as of now, I find the image ability lacking. No doubt this will be resolved in the near future.
At a guess, I'd say Lcd television is here to stay. There will be advances for the best but the basal technology will remain.
I'm off to watch some Dvd's on my Panasonic Viera discount lcd television.
